Hello, and welcome to my new venture! I do not consider myself much of a writer, but I recently decided it was time to change it up a bit and risk something new. So, here I am 🙂
First, I am a full time working mom of two wonderful, really great teenagers. Second, I love anything that is design related. I hope someday to have an encore career in interior design. I like to DIY, if it’s not too challenging and if the hubby will help. I enjoy cooking, and like to focus on eating healthier. I love to workout, but can’t seem to find the time 🙂
I have a loving, supportive husband who is so easy to get along with, that I sometimes wonder if that’s why we’ve lasted twenty years! He works so hard at his job and at home that he deserves an AWESOME retirement. And there you have it friends, my motivation for this blog.
I’m finding life over 50 to be challenging, and yet easier. There’s not a lot of information out there for us aging folks other than how to save money for retirement or how not to die too young.lol. My husband is six years and seven months away from retirement, and we are two years away from being empty nesters (yahoo!). Whenever I would ask Mark what he wants to do when he retires, he would always say he was going to keep on working….. ugh. Not what I wanted to hear. So I decided to come up with “A RETIREMENT PLAN” to figure out how to have the most fun possible for the next 20 to 50 years of our life. We’ve spent the last twenty years focused on raising our children, working and well, just everyday life. Our oldest child is away at college and the younger one is driving and hopefully working soon, so I have more time to focus on us as a couple, and on my own needs. I was afraid my initial enthusiasm would fade quickly, as it often does with my many ideas. So, one night as I was trolling through Pintrest, and I linked over to some blogs, the idea hit me! Hold yourself accountable by writing about it! I hope you will join me as I research, ponder, and explore all things related to enjoying life over fifty!
Enjoy the journey,
